It’s nice that you came to this site because I bet your next vacation
will be in the serene and most tranquil environment around the Naivasha Lake.
The lake is located just a short 100 km from the country’s capital Nairobi but,
surprisingly, just a few people who have experienced the untold goodness of the
holiday resources it carries would think of it as a holiday destination.
Approaching it from the Naivasha South lake road from MaiMahiu through Longonot
Township, no one would think anything interesting would be found around the
lake located in a somewhat semi arid region.
The entire shore of Lake Naivasha is covered by some of the
country’s best hotels, lodges and resorts save for a few public beaches and
private flower farms. It’s no wonder dignitaries will think of a hidden haven at
the lake’s shores whenever they have crucial matters to deliberate on and most importantly
when they can take no more the heated air of the city of Nairobi. The best
thing is that in Naivasha, you will find fun places and holiday activities that
will fit you regardless of your size of budget.
It is difficult to talk about Naivasha getaways or holiday
destinations without mentioning its hotel facilities. The comfort and luxury you will
enjoy with the facilities around the Naivasha Lake is one thing you will surely
want to remember for a long time. Take for example the Lake Naivasha Country
Club that is designed to be gracefully touched by the lake’s soft waves blown
by a cool evening breeze. The club features an ultra-modern swimming pool and a
spa.
If you are the kind that adores nature’s beauty, the country
club is just the place to go and enjoy activities that bring you in direct
contact with wildlife. The tiled floors and colourful decorations in the Club’s
accommodation facilities do not fascinate me as much as the wooden fittings and
elegant furniture, not to mention the garden views from the balcony of your
private room.
Cool. That was just a mention since I will be doing a

unique offers later. Turn attention to the real fun of visiting the fresh water lake located
on the floor of the great African Rift Valley. Who wouldn’t want a boat ride
into the waters that are a habitat to thousands of hippos and a variety of bird
species? You would particularly enjoy watching them swim and play surrounded by
the flowered thick green water hyacinth.
Lake Naivasha has actually more animal species than you can see
or count on a day’s visit. There is a sanctuary, perfect for camping, which is managed
by the Kenya Wildlife Services. This sanctuary is home to a number of zebras, giraffes,
water bucks, buffaloes and most interestingly red impalas. The first time we
saw these impalas, a funny friend of ours said that they were wearing white
socks with black shoes. And they truly jump around like playful school children
with whom they have that one common thing – the white socks and black shoes.
I can’t exhaustively speak of the beauty of Lake Naivasha all in one post but it would be unfair to jungle lovers to conclude without a mention of Hells Gate National Park. It is a few kilometres from the lake but one destination you should not leave out of your Naivasha safari. It’s where you go if you want to experience spectacular views of wildlife against landscape. The land is vast and its tranquillity completed by the gazelles, giraffes and warthogs that freely graze it. I biked through the park and I bet this is one experience I will never forget.
